Setting up Salesforce
The Salesforce app will allow you to connect your Pegasys businesses to your corresponding Salesforce accounts. If Pegasys finds an exact match a 'Open in Salesforce' button will automatically appear within your business records. This will allow you to quickly hop between the two platforms and allow Pegasys to do what it does best. Freight!
Installing Salesforce
Navigate to the Pegasys Marketplace, find the Salesforce app and click 'Install'
You will then be prompted to enter your Salesforce credentials. These credentials can be tricky to obtain, but this will ensure that Pegasys is not collecting and storing any of your Salesforce information.
The username and password should be the admin account on the Salesforce platform.
To obtain the consumer key and consumer secret we have to head on over to Salesforce and create an app.
Click the Setup button located at the top right hand corner of Salesforce
Create a new 'Connected App'. In order to do this navigate to Platform Tools > Apps > App Manager.
Enter 'Pegasys' as your Connected/API Name
Enter your personal email address for the "Contact Email"
Click the checkbox beside 'Enable OAuth Settings'
Enter:
Click 'Full Access (full)' and arrow it to the right
Disable 'Require Secret for Web Server Flow'
Scroll to the bottom and click 'Save'
You will now be redirected to the Pegasys app that you have just created.
Copy the 'Consumer Key' and 'Consumer Secret' and paste them into the Pegasys install window.
The 'Secret Token' is emailed to you by Salesforce upon sign-up. However, if you are unable to find it, we can request it from Salesforce through your personal profile.
Once all of the fields have been entered in Pegasys, the credentials will be verified! If everything goes well the Salesforce installation will be complete.
Within a Business Record you will now see a 'Open in Saleforce' button if Pegasys is able to find a match.
