Managing Customer Credit Limits
Credit Limit warnings are displayed when adding or editing revenue lines within the system as long as the credit limit on the given system is set to above 0. However, to enforce credit limits and ensure that personnel are not going over the limit it is essential to go through Company Settings and enable this functionality.
Enabling Customer Limit Restrictions
Click the Gears along the top navigation bar (top-right)
Click Company Settings
Navigate to Shipment Settings
Enable Check Credit Requirements
This setting will prevent all users that are not Admin and/or have the ability to manage 'Customer Credit' enabled within their User Permissions from creating shipments and adding revenue lines when credit limits have exceeded.
Preventing users from changing credit limits and bypassing credit checks
Users that do not have permission to Manager Customer Credit will be blocked with an error when creating/editing a shipment and creating/editing revenue lines when customer credit has been exceeded or credit is 'locked' for a customer. Admin users and users with permissions to manage credit will be presented with a warning with the ability to bypass the prompt.
Navigate to Records and click Employees
Open the Permissions tab for the Employee you would like to enable/restrict
Toggle the setting for Manage Customer Credit
Notifications
When customer credit checks have been enabled. All administrators will begin receiving notifications (in-app and email) when credit has changed on a customer record, and any instance when the credit limit has been overridden.
Reporting
We have also built an 'Operations' report called the 'Customer Credit Limit' report which allows you to view customer credit limits for all of your businesses and how many times there has been an exception made for that business by an admin or user that access to managing customer credit.
Credit limit checks are also enforced when quoting a Quote to Shipment.
