# Dispatching a shipment

In Pegasys you have the ability to add multiple shipments to the same dispatch record. Helping you micro manage those small LTL loads or just saving the environment (+ of course money) when moving FTL loads. When adding a shipment, you can choose to add an existing, or create a new one.

**From an existing dispatch**
1. Open the dispatch record that you would like to add the shipment to.
2. Click the **Add Existing Shipment** button under the Shipments list.
3. Click the **+ Add** button beside the shipment hat you would like to add to the dispatch record.
4. You have successfully added the shipment to the dispatch.

**From the shipment**
1. Open the shipment that you would like to add to a dispatch.
2. Click the **Dispatch** button along the top of the record.
3. Click **Existing Dispatch**.
4. Click the **+** button beside the dispatch that you would like to associate the shipment to.
5. You have successfully added the shipment to dispatch.

**From the shipment open button**
The open button is very powerful for any record. You can access your record controls without leaving a page and keep yourself in the flow of your processes.

1. Click the **dropdown arrow** beside any shipment **Open** button.
2. Click the **Dispatch** button along the top of the record.
3. Click **Existing Dispatch**.
4. Click the **+** button beside the dispatch that you would like to associate the shipment to.
5. You have successfully added the shipment to dispatch.

Note: You can only dispatch shipments that are **Pending Dispatch** or **Partially Dispatched**.

Pegasys uses machine learning and AI to figure out which stops need to be merged together! It will look at the trip length, times and address information to determine the most optimized trip. This is why using the correct Date/Time is so crucial when creating shipments!
