# Deleting a dispatch

You may want to delete a trip/dispatch if you want to start from scratch, the trip is no longer valid or if you are wanting to change the detail. 

**From the dispatch page**
1. Open the dispatch record that you want to delete.
2. Click **More**.
3. Click **Delete**.
4. **Delete** will delete the dispatch but preserve all of the related bills that are tied to this trip. The relationship on the bills will be flipped to **Other**.
5. **Delete with Bills** will delete the dispatch record along with all of the bills that are directly tied to this trip.

**From the dispatch button**
The open button is very powerful for any record. You can access your record controls without leaving a page and keep yourself in the flow of your processes.

1. Click the **dropdown arrow** beside any shipment **Open** button.
2. Click **Delete**.
3. **Delete** will delete the dispatch but preserve all of the related bills that are tied to this trip. The relationship on the bills will be flipped to **Other**.
4. **Delete with Bills** will delete the dispatch record along with all of the bills that are directly tied to this trip.
