# Creating a dispatch

You can take a dispatch first approach in Pegasys by creating a blank dispatch and then adding your shipments to it. However, most customers will [dispatch their shipments to an existing or new dispatch.](/en-us/article/dispatching-a-shipment-67lz2u/)

**From the Dispatch page**
1. Click **Dispatches** on the top navigation bar to get to the Dispatch page.
2. Click on the **Create** button in the top right corner.
3. Fill out the dispatch form. Remember, you can choose **Company Truck** along the bottom to dispatch your drivers/owner operators or **Carrier** to dispatch to a third party.
4. Click **Create**.
5. You have successfully created a blank dispatch that you can now start adding your shipments to.

**From the top navigation bar**
1. Click the **+** button on the top navigation bar from anywhere within the application.
2. Fill out the dispatch form. Remember, you can choose **Company Truck** along the bottom to dispatch your drivers/owner operators or **Carrier** to dispatch to a third party.
3. Click **Create**.
4. You have successfully created a blank dispatch that you can now start adding your shipments to.
